I just wanted to post something about my experience with our new addition. It has been four weeks since we got Achilles from Marlene and we have nothing but a great experience caring for our new puppy! My fiance and I had been looking for months for the perfect puppy. Pet stores we went to had too many dogs, some super small and sick looking. We were going to buy one from a private owner but upon closer examination we learned the dog was not a purebred! We were thinking of putting off the whole search until we came across Marlene's site! We spent 2 hours deciding on which puppy to bring home because we truly fell in love with them all! Marlene really knows what she is doing, and all her puppies are healthy alert and gorgeous! I can not even walk my puppy around the block without people stopping me to say how cute he is!
The first night was tough. He cried all night. He wouldn't eat for two days. I panicked. I called Marlene. Upon her suggestion we got him a warm fluffy bed and left the food for him to take when he came around. ... And he did. After three days he was paper trained, eating on schedule three times a day and sleeping all night in his crate with no complaints!! This week he actually started to hold in his business and wait until we take him outside!!! People couldn't believe that he was so well behaved. I believe it was due to the breeder! Thanks again Marlene .... and for all those on the fence about getting a Chihuahua ... I highly recommend it!
Warmest Regards,
Lisa, Lukas and Achilles
Thank you Lisa for your very kind words. You are now one of the 99.9% satisfied people that have bought a Chi from me over what seems to be a lifetime. I say 99.9% because there's always that .01%, that even if I stood on my head and spit nickels for them it wouldn't be enough. I hope your Chihuahua will grow up to be a fine terrier type, and I hope a credit to his kind. Your story is a very familiar one for me and like I stated many times before, I think it's due to the fact that my puppies are touched with much love before going to their new homes....which makes a world of difference how they will react to people for the rest of their life's. I wish all my pups could move into their new life with such a smooth landing as Achilles has. There's always those few exceptions that don't follow the rules.
Last week I delivered a female Chihuahua to a very nice young lady who's name is Kate, who lives in Brooklyn. She is a student studying here from Poland. All her life she dreamed of having a little Chihuahua someday....Boy do I know the feeling, and that is why I'm compelled to giving a Chihuahua puppy free of charge to a family with children from time to time. Anyway, Kate's little puppy wasn't behaving in such a good manor as your little guy. Even thought I've given her most of the pointers that I've learned over the years. Nothing seems to be working for her. But I know all of this nonsense will subside in time. Just like a new baby there's usually some growing pains we all have to go though with a new puppy until the puppy gets over the new home stress, which could take up to a week or so. Time and patients is the key ingredients here.
Kate did tell me a cute story about the puppy the first day in her new home with her.....Kate put the puppy in her blouse, tied a belt around her waste so the baby couldn't slip out, and she slept there so content for a long period of time while she studied for her exam. Something I would have highly not recommend for the first day with a new puppy. That gold road that we all are guilty of traveling on from time to time in our lives can be a bumpy one for all of us. Yes that fist night can be a little hellish. Because a new puppy on the first night will make sure that no good deed will go unpunished. Still there are the puppies that don't make a peep on the first night and I do hear more of those wonderful stories more than often.
Well, to you Lise, I wish you and your little baby boy all the best, to a long life of happiness and love. Take Care, Lots of hugs and Chi Chi kisses to ya darling, Love, Marlene and Bethany
This is one I just had to share with you..... I took it from mylittlechi talk forum. If by chance you have a little chi from me that is giving you your run for the money....maybe this will help!

Hi Marlene,
I read your message the other day and thought it was so sweet that you thought about us! I wanted to write you back and send you some pictures, which is why I'm using this email. Achilles is great! And yes, it took about 5 months but his ears stood up and they are huge! You were so right, they took a while and went up one at a time but it never mattered to us he looks great either way! I have to say that he is a very unique chihuahua, and I think it is due to your breeding. He is super friendly, great around kids, never yappy (unless the swiffer comes out), he is great with other dogs big and small. And on top of it he is gorgeous, we get so many complements! You can't see in these pictures but his eyes are a really nice shade of green! I can't thank you enough we are so happy with him!
I was reading an excerpt on your web site about a man who bought a chi and he was larger and had long legs. You had mentioned he was a deer type. We are very happy with Achilles and his size, he is about 5.5 lbs right now and we think he will be about 8 or 9 when he is done. He has a great build very lean and muscular. We just wanted your opinion as to what you think he is. Also I thought it was great that you posted the guys and dolls on the web site. We have seen achille's dad EL Fudge, but do you have a picture of the mom I think her name is Mechi?
Thank you for catching up with us! We have sent a lot of people to your site, Achilles is the best advertisement ever, people stop us and ask where we got him from all the time! Please keep us posted with any news on your puppies! We are working on convincing my brother law to get our niece a chi for the holidays!
Love, Lisa, Lukas & Achilles
Achilles at 8 weeks old
Just let me say that, it's been a pleasure to have been the breeder, to have brought the love into Lukas and Lisa's family through the heart of their little Chihuahua, Achilles. I wish I could pay homage to all the wonderful people who own one of my loving Chihuahuas. But, I know that even if I never hear from them again, it does my heart good to know that, in all this BIG world, I was able to fill it with lots of little love bugs, that seemed to make a difference......
